During the past time, given the transformation of the growth model based on innovation, productivity improvement, reduction of dependence on natural resources and cheap labor, the Vietnamese economy has been developing impressively. Macroeconomic stability is maintained. GDP growth in 2017 reached 6.81%, the first 6 months of 2018 reached 7.08% - the highest level since 2011. According to the World Bank forecast, the economic growth rate of Vietnam in 2018 will continue to improve at 6.8%.

According to Prof. Dr. Sc. Le Du Phong - Former President of National Economics University said that the fourth industrial revolution is taking place in all fields of production and business of the economy, rather than limited in some areas, especially industrial areas such as the first, second and third revolution. This is a particularly advantageous opportunity for the development of the Vietnamese economy. This is due to the fact that many production and business fields in Vietnam have advantages such as agriculture, medicine, pharmacy, food processing, information technology, informatics ...They are targeted contents of the fourth industrial revolution.

At the workshop, delegates discussed and made comments, including the need to focus on investment in science and technology development, especially in cutting-edge science and technology sectors, directly mentioning the contents of the Revolution 4.0 on the basis of best promoting the intellectual potential of the people, science and technology staff of Vietnam. The results of scientific and technological research must be implemented in reality. Modern and advanced science and technology must become the main and direct production force as directed for decades.
In addition, at the workshop, delegates also said that it is vital to accelerate administrative reform to create a state management system from the central to local level that plays a leading role in the implementation of the fourth industrial revolution, from the application of scientific and technological advances and use of advanced scientific and technological advances in production and business to enhance the competitiveness and join the global value chain of enterprises, Vietnam's products, goods and services through the mechanisms and policies to create the most favorable conditions for each enterprise, each citizen to access and exploit the achievements of the Revolution 4.0.

It is necessary to establish a complete science and technology market so that the products of the Fourth Industrial Revolution will be exchanged under the market mechanism to both encourage the creation of new scientific and technological products and promote the transfer and use advanced scientific and technological products. In addition, the system of legal regulations and the enforcement of intellectual property rights should be rapidly strengthened and completed in line with international practices, ensuring that the Vietnamese science and technology market can develop healthily, inherit and promote the achievements of the Industry Revolution 4.0 in the world.
